Thyssen-Bornemisza: Graphic Design Proposal for Temporary Exhibitions

We submitted a graphic design proposal for the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid, as part of the official public tender (Exp. MNTB25-072) for the visual development of three temporary exhibitions. One of the key requirements was the creation of a distinctive mancheta (graphic header) for the upcoming exhibition “Vilhelm Hammershøi: The Eye That Listens”, scheduled for early 2026. This retrospective will be the first in Spain dedicated to the Danish painter, known for his haunting interiors and poetic silence.

Our proposal explored a refined visual language that resonated with Hammershøi’s muted tones and introspective atmosphere, while also addressing the broader communication needs of the museum’s temporary programming. Although our project was not selected, being a finalist was a deeply enriching experience. As long-time admirers of the Thyssen-Bornemisza and its curatorial excellence, we were honored to contribute our vision to such a prestigious institution.
